  • State Treasurer: Financial Literacy Seminars for Teachers

In November 2007 the Office of the State Treasurer, in conjunction with Maine Public Broadcasting Network, hosted four, hour-long, video-recorded seminars designed to assist Maine social studies teachers in understanding how they can incorporate personal finance education into the classroom. The Economics standard in the 2007 Learning Results includes personal finance content and benchmarks. The seminars are designed to meet each grade-specific standard. They are led by national experts on the topic of personal financial literacy.

You may access the seminars by clicking on the video files below. The files will open in the desktop Windows Media Player, and are captioned. Captions can be turned on and off in the Windows Media Player, though they are only available in the PC version. Mac users can download and view the Quicktime versions if they don't have Windows Media Player installed.
