Tax Acquired Property
Annually, the Unorganized Territory has tax acquired parcels that are sold via a sealed bid process. This process is administered by the Maine Revenue Services. Interested parties may receive a listing of the parcels to be sold and details on how to bid, by mailing a letter to:

When mailing your request, the envelope should have, L.S. written on it in the lower right hand corner. Inside this envelope please include a self-addressed, stamped 9" X 11" envelope with six 41 cent stamps on it. Nothing else is required.
This envelope will be used to return information to you on the parcels being offered for bid that year and an explanation of the process and timeframe.

The next sale will be in late 2008 or early 2009. If you wish a list of the parcels for that sale,
please return a self-addressed 9X12 manila envelop with 6 first class stamps on the front and the
notation “2005 LS” appearing on the lower left corner to Maine Revenue Services, Property Tax
Division, PO Box 9106, Augusta, ME 04332-9106.
