Turner April Thursday the 25 1861

The Honorable Governor Washburn of Maine As the
old company of riflemen which I used to
command want me to get a good Rifle Company
and now if you will give me the first chance
to go the first [?] that riflemen are called for
I will get up a good Company of one Hundred Men
in it and drill them and have them ready to
march when called for and if you conclude
to do it I want you to send me a Rifle Company
Roll and Rifle tactics book and all other paper
and I will pay the postage on them and send
them Col. Leonard H. Leavitt, East Hebron
Maine and if you conclude to have me get a
Company you will write me as you get this.
