SIR:
I have the honour of transmitting to you, by direction of the President of the United
States, and in pursuance of a joint Resolution of the two Houses of Congress, approved the
26th of last month, a printed copy of which is annexed, the accompanying five fac-simile
copies of the original Declaration of Independence, engraved by Mr. Wm. J. Stone, an Artist of
this City.
