CHAPTER
2: Initial Licensure
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A., §§6013(2), 6020-A(1), 6021,

PURPOSE: This Chapter sets forth criteria for the initial licensure
of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists and describe the application
process. ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Summer 2005.

CHAPTER
3: Continuing Professional Education requirements for Renewal of
Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology

6030
PURPOSE: These rules set detailed requirements for continuing professional
education, including hours needed to be relicensed, approval and relicensing
procedures, and define approved Continuing Professional Education activities.

CHAPTER
4: The Registration and Use of Speech-Language Pathology Aides and

and (3), 6013, and 6020-A(2)
PURPOSE: This Chapter outlines requirements for registration and utilization
of Speech-Language Pathology Aides and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants.

5: Scope of Practice

PURPOSE: This Chapter outlines the scope of practice of Speech-Language
Pathologists and Audiologists.

CHAPTER
6: Complaints, Code of Ethics, Discipline Imposed by other Jurisdictions
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 M.R.S.A., §§ 6003(3-A), 6013(2), and
6026(2)
PURPOSE: This Chapter contains the code of ethics adopted by the board
and a reference to the complaint process followed by the board; additionally,
it establishes that discipline imposed by other jurisdictions may lead
to disciplinary sanctions in Maine.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Summer 2005.
AFFECTED PARTIES: Licensees and consumers.
CONSENSUS-BASED RULE DEVELOPMENT: Not expected.
CHAPTER
7: Fees
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 10 M.R.S.A. §8003(2-A)(D).
PURPOSE: This Chapter sets forth the fees to be charged for all licenses
issued. The Board may repeal existing fee provisions in the event that
OLR establishes fees for this board directly pursuant to 10 M.R.S.A.
§8003(2-A)(D).
