CHAPTER 2: Rules Relating to Dental Hygienists
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 MRSA §1073
PURPOSE: Section II:G:1 - Reduce the number of hours required for an approved local anesthesia course.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Spring/Summer 2008
AFFECTED PARTIES: Dental hygiene licensees’ and applicants
CHAPTER 3: Rules Relating to Dental Assistants
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 MRSA §1073
PURPOSE: Section V – 1 - Provide a pathway for certified orthodontic assistants to be eligible for EFDA certification; Section IV – 2 - Additional duties to include, Periodontal Screening and Records and Periodontal Probing for an EFDA; 3.). Remove the duty for EFDA’s with regards to the pouring of study models.

CHAPTER 6: Rules for Approved Radiation Barriers

PURPOSE: To remove references of February 1 from all license types; add all licensing and renewal fees for EFDA’s; and, add the Board’s ability to waive fees.

CHAPTER 10: Licensure Requirements for Dental Radiographers
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: 32 MRSA §1073
PURPOSE: Sections I and II – Add the Board’s ability to waive an interview; and the Requirements for reinstatement of licenses.
