Secretary of State Charles E. Summers, Jr. to Hold a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the New Bureau of Motor Vehicle Office Location in Calais

Calais BMV branch relocates to cut costs and improve access to customers

CALAIS - Secretary of State Charlie Summers and the town of Calais will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the new Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) office, located at 23 Washington Street in Calais on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.

“Moving to this location will save $94,500 over the 10 year lease term,” stated Secretary Summers. Originally built by Thomas Dicenzo in the 1950s as an IGA store, this new location is an updated facility with improved access to customers, a new heating system and energy efficient features throughout the building.
