AUGUSTA, Maine — The Joint Standing Committee on Transportation will hold a public hearing and work session on LD 1912 “An Act To Encourage Responsible Teen Driving” on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in State House, Room 126.

LD 1912 was approved by the Legislative Council as an after deadline bill in response to the high number of teen fatalities occurring in Maine over the past four months.

The bill extends the period of restrictions imposed on intermediate driver’s licenses, increases penalties and terms of license suspensions.
