Enterprise Saint John

As a city rich in history, Saint John, New Brunswick, has a sense of self that comes from being one of the oldest cities in the new world. With a reputation as a gritty industrial centre and after suffering a period of economic decline, St John embarked on a new economic and community development strategy.

What emerged was a holistic approach to growing their community; ensuring everyone works together to attract and retain people, ideas and investment by balancing economic, social, cultural and environmental priorities. Much like Maine’s quality of place effort, St. John realized they needed to attract and keep people; first.
