Goals: To preserve, protect and enhance the unique ecosystems of Merrymeeting Bay.

Current Programs:

FOMB is a land trust and works on land protection issues through purchase and conservation easement programs. FOMB sponsors research projects to increase the general body of knowledge about the Bay and uses this information to work with local and state agencies and organizations to improve the water quality of the Bay. Other programs include water quality monitoring, aerial photograph interpretation, dioxin/PCB studies, etc.

Resources: Education work in local schools, sponsors field trips, and publishes a Community Resource Directory that teachers can use to call on the skills of local experts.
