Goals: To conserve land that is essential to the character of Maine, particularly along its coastline, lakes and rivers.
Current Programs:
Assist landowners who wish to voluntarily conserve important shorelands and help communities and local land trusts protect significant land resources.
Resources: 20 employees in 2 offices provide direct assistance to landowners, land trusts, and policymakers in negotiating conservation easements and facilitating the acquisition of protected lands. Publications on land conservation, including Conservation Options
