Today, the U.S. Census Bureau released 2023 population estimates by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin for the nation, states, and counties. This release provides additional demographic information about Maine’s population as of July 1, 2023.
The new estimates show that Maine’s median age (44.8) has been relatively stable since 2020 and that its population is becoming more racially and ethnically diverse over time.
