Maine Workforce Development Compact Workforce Support To address Maine’s skilled workforce shortage by harnessing the expertise of and working in collaboration with Maine’s workforce training delivery agencies and organizations whose clientele are seeking employment. There will be three ways of providing training and education for businesses: 

The MWDC will provide training to help the unemployed and under-employed find employment to meet career and personal goals. Based on input from MWDC members, the MCCS will offer training programs to prepare workers for job vacancies in Maine. 
Upgrade frontline incumbent workers’ skills through professional development opportunities leading to career advancement and job security. The MCCS will provide financial support for the MWDC members for the cost of training for their workforce; and 
Enroll incumbent workers in college courses to put them on a path to earning a college degree. The MCCS will offer scholarship help for-credit courses for MWDC members. 
The Maine Community College System, through the MWDC, is inviting businesses and associations to be full partners in delivering training needed throughout Maine. While our program will serve all Maine companies, we will provide additional resources to meet the unique challenges faced by small to mid-size companies.
