Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Readiness Assessment - Initial Cohort Due Date of January 19, 2024
A goal of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is to identify a Maine model for CCBHC, reflecting the Department’s commitment to improving health care access and outcomes for people living in Maine, demonstrating cost-effective use of resources, and creating an environment where providers can innovate to deliver high-value care. In March of 2023, Maine received a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) CCBHC Planning Grant to engage with stakeholders to inform the model and develop the infrastructure to implement CCBHC.
Maine DHHS will apply to participate in the SAMHSA CCBHC Demonstration program by March 20, 2024, with the notice of award anticipated in Summer 2024. As a condition of this application, Maine DHHS will engage with providers who demonstrate readiness to adhere to SAMHSA Certification criteria and Maine’s CCBHC service design through a submitted cost report and completed readiness assessment. To be considered for inclusion in the initial cohort of Maine’s CCBHC implementation, please submit a readiness assessment by January 19, 2024. There will be additional opportunities for prospective CCBHCs to submit readiness assessments in the future.
Interested providers should request a copy of the readiness assessment by emailing CCBHC_DHHS@maine.gov.
