Training Opportunity Available for Family and Caregivers of Adults Receiving Services Within Section 12, 19, and 96 Programs

The Office of Aging and Disability Services in collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Maine is excited to announce a virtual De-Escalation training opportunity scheduled for Monday October 28, 2024.

This training is available for caregivers providing care to Section 12, 19, and 96 members. Caregivers can include personal support staff, attendants, home health aides, nurses or other natural and family supports.

Mental Health First Aid for Caregivers is a skills-based training that teaches participants skills to respond to aging adults struggling with a mental health challenge. This training leads to a 3-year certification issued by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.

Registration is limited to 25 participants and the deadline to register is October 1, 2024.

Time: 8:30AM-3:00PM (2 hours of independent pre-work to be completed prior to instruction led session on October 28, 2024)
