I95 TT CrashPoor driving conditions contributed to several crashes that closed Interstate 95 near Dixmont, Etna, and Plymouth.  Interstate 95 Southbound remains closed and traffic is being diverted off the interstate at Exit 167.  The interstate is expected to remain closed for the next 4-6 hours.

On 11/22/2021, Tpr. Ellis stopped Ryan Sawyer (26) of Arundel on the ME Turnpike for speeding 110 MPH southbound in Arundel. He was summonsed for criminal speed.

Crime in Maine decreased -6.1% during 2020, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety. It is the ninth consecutive year that crime has dropped in Maine for a total decline during the past nine years of -62.7%.  Crime dropped -6.6 in 2019, -9.3 in 2018, -8.2% in 2017, -8.7% in 2016, -7.1% in 2015, -13% in 2014, -8.3% in 2013, and -1.5% in 2012.

On 11/15/2021, Cpl. Cote stopped Calvin Powell (30) of Portland on the ME Turnpike southbound in Gray.  His ME driver’s license was found to be suspended.  He was charged with Operating after Suspension and his vehicle was towed away.

On Saturday, November 20, 2021 at approximately 11:12 p.m. the Maine State Police, along with members of the Fairfield, Waterville and Skowhegan Police Departments responded to the report of a possible stabbing at a residence at 19 Pratt Rd. in Fairfield. Upon investigation it was learned that two adult males sustained stab wounds at the home where there was a gathering that evening.  Both males were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
