Legislators to hold press conference on Maine's housing crisis

AUGUSTA - Members of the Legislature's Housing Working Group will host an in-person press conference on Tuesday, April 27 at 11 a.m. to discuss the urgency of addressing Maines housing crisis. The press conference will be held outside of the Maine State House in Augusta.

Members who will speak include Sen. Anne Carney, D-Cape Elizabeth, Rep. Kristen Cloutier, D-Lewiston, Rep. Traci Gere, D-Kennebunkport, Rep. Chris Kessler, D-South Portland, Rep. Victoria Morales, D-South Portland, and Rep. Melanie Sachs, D-Freeport. They will be joined by housing advocates and members of the public to discuss the housing situation in Maine and current legislative proposals related to housing affordability, housing availability and emergency shelters.

Members of the press who would like to attend must RSVP, socially distance and wear a mask or face covering.
