AUGUSTA – Rep. Anne-Marie Mastraccio, D-Sanford, will serve as House chair of the Legislature’s Government Oversight Committee. She previously served as the House chair of the committee from 2016 to 2020. She was appointed by House Speaker Ryan Fecteau.
The committee oversees program evaluation and government accountability matters in State government. The committee works to ensure that public funds are expended for intended purposes, and that programs and activities are effectively, efficiently and economically managed.
“Last session, as a member of the Government Oversight Committee, I worked with my colleagues on the committee in a bipartisan fashion to review Maine’s child protective services,” said Mastraccio. “We pushed for improvements to the programs and structures that keep our kids safe, and I am committed to continuing efforts to ensure state government is working optimally for the people of Maine. It is an honor to have been appointed to the position of chair and I look forward to our work ahead.”
Mastraccio is serving her sixth non-consecutive term in the Maine House of Representatives. In addition to serving as House chair of the Legislature’s Government Oversight Committee, Mastraccio also serves on the Health Coverage, Insurance and Financial Services Committee. She represents House District 142, which includes a portion of Sanford and Springvale.
