Paid Family Medical Leave Rules Public Comment Period Ending July 8

The proposed rules were published for public comment on May 20.

AUGUSTA - There is still time for the public to comment on the proposed rules - https://www.maine.gov/labor/docs/2024/rulemaking/12_702PFMLDraftRule.pdf for Maine's new Paid Family and Medical Leave Program! The Maine Department of Labor will accept comments through July 8, 2024. The public can submit comments online on the Department's website - https://www.maine.gov/labor/rulemaking/ or by mail.

Comments submitted by mail can be addressed to the Paid Family and Medical Leave Program, 50 State House Station, Augusta, Maine 04333-0050. Comments made by mail must have a postdate of July 8 or earlier.

After the public comment period ends, the Department will review and consider all comments submitted by the public. At that point, the Department may make changes to the proposed rule, and has the option to issue another version of the rule for further public comment.
