Introduction

In 2004, Maine adopted a voluntary Model Building Code. In 2008, it was replaced by Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code, which required municipalities with certain populations to enforce uniform building standards. 

This legislative history includes legislation enacting and amending the statutes governing the Maine Model Building Code (10 MRS §§9701-9707) and the Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code (10 MRS §§9721-9725, 25 MRS §§2371-2374).
