CHMIELEWSKI, Supt. of ) Schools, School Union #104, ) ) Respondents. ) _________________________________) At the commencement of the hearing in the above-captioned case on Tuesday, March 10, 1987, the representatives of the parties requested time to confer and try to reach a settlement. After discussion, the parties reached the following agreement which was read into the record as follows: "For the record my name is Milton Wright. I'm representing the Pembroke Education Association, the Maine Teachers Association and the National Education Association. The parties have discussed a settle- ment which would do the following: (1) it would provide during the 1986-87 school year $200 for teacher pay over and above the regular salary schedule. It would have a starting of the school day for teachers at 8:15 and an ending of the school day at 2:15, with this revised schedule to go into effect next Monday. Additionally, the parties would immediately agree to commence negotiations for a suc- cessor agreement, which negotiations would include discussion of salaries with the understanding that the length of the school day for teachers would be discussed prior to the actual negotiations on salaries. Further, the parties would agree, with the concurrence of the Board, to withdraw the prohibited practice complaint charge against the school committee." -1- "And for the record my name is Paul Hurlburt, and I'm repre- senting the Pembroke School Committee, and the Pembroke School Committee would agree with the terms as Mr. Wright has mentioned, and would also agree to withdraw its counterclaim."
