PeoplesChoice Credit Union to amend bylaws and expand field of membership

PeoplesChoice Credit Union, Saco, Maine, has requested permission to amend its bylaws to expand its field of membership, in accordance with Title 9-B M.R.S. § 848.

PeoplesChoice Credit Union is a community credit union whose field of membership consists of: Persons who live, work, or attend school in the counties of Cumberland and York, including members of their immediate family and organizations and associations of such persons.

The proposed bylaw amendment adds seven counties to its field of membership: Androscoggin County, Aroostook County, Franklin County, Oxford County, Penobscot County, Piscataquis County, and Somerset County.

The Maine Bureau of Financial Institutions reviewed the documentation submitted by PeoplesChoice Credit Union in support of its request for a rural district field of membership and considered rural district guidelines established by the National Credit Union Administration, as set forth in 9-B M.R.S. § 814.

As a result of that review and analysis, the Bureau approved the request to expand the field of membership by adding the requested counties. Therefore, the community field of membership for PeoplesChoice Credit Union is amended to include: persons who live, work, or attend school in the rural district of Androscoggin, Aroostook, Cumberland, Franklin, Oxford, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, and York counties of Maine including members of their immediate family, and organizations and associations of such persons.

Any person aggrieved by this final agency action shall be entitled to judicial review, pursuant to the provisions the Maine Administrative Procedures Act, Title 5, Chapter 375, Subchapter 7 (5 M.R.S. §§ 11001-11008).
