Financial Hardship Resources

The Veterans’ Emergency Financial Assistance Program (VEFAP), administered by the Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services in partnership with FEDCAP, provides financial assistance to Maine veterans facing unexpected financial hardships. This program helps eligible veterans cover essential expenses such as rent or mortgage payments, utilities, vehicle repairs, and other urgent needs to prevent financial instability.

VEFAP aims to support veterans in maintaining their independence and well-being during difficult times. To qualify, veterans must meet specific eligibility requirements, including residency and service criteria.

Employment Resources for Veterans

Maine’s CareerCenters can provide specialized employment and training services for eligible Veterans and their spouses. If you served in the U.S. Armed Forces and meet eligibility requirements, you can meet with a Veterans Representative who can help you find a job, obtain new skills, aid with a career upgrade or access other state or federal resources available to Veterans.
