Maine Personal Income and  Per Capita Income Data

Personal Income is the income received by persons from all sources.  It is the sum of wage and salary disbursements, other labor income (employer contributions to pension funds, etc), proprietors' income, rental income of persons, dividends, personal interest income, and transfer payments (mostly government payments of pensions, social security, medical insurance, unemployment payments, etc.), less personal contributions for social insurance.

Per Capita income is total personal income divided by the total population.

for Maine Personal Income and Per Capita Personal Income, see:
U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Town-level Per Capita Income comes from the 2000 US Census and is somewhat different, being defined as Per Capita Money Income.
