Food Assistance Programs
- Maine Senior Farmshare Program - The program provides eligible low-income seniors the opportunity to receive a share (worth $50) of first-quality, fresh, local produce.
- The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) - A federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost.
- Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) - A federal program which works to improve the health of low-income elderly people at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods.
- Hunters for the Hungry - The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry facilitates the donations to food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters affiliated with The Emergency Food Assistance Program.
