Metropolitan Area

A wide range of data is published for the state’s three metro areas – more than for towns or counties.

Unemployment and Labor Force Estimates by Metro Area

Monthly and annual estimates representing age 16+ residents of an area, regardless of where they may work. Estimates are subject to revisions over time.

Nonfarm Jobs by Metro Area

Monthly and annual estimates of jobs held statewide and by metro area for industry sectors. Data is provided on both seasonally- or not-seasonally adjusted basis. Estimates are derived from a large survey of employers; they are revised to the lagging complete job count annually. This is the best series for industry comparisons over time.

Quarterly and Annual Employment and Wages by Metro Area

Quarterly and annual counts of jobs held and wages paid. Provides greatest industry and area detail on jobs reported by employers. This data often is used as a time series, though certain administrative factors sometimes make for imperfect comparisons.

Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates by Metro Area

Annual estimates of jobs and wages for more than 600 occupations derived from a survey of employers. Useful for workers, job seekers, and employers for understanding market wages and the share of jobs in various functions. (Jobs held with employers in the area, regardless of where the job holder may reside.)
