About the Digital Maine Library

The Digital Maine Library provides Maine residents with 24 hour access to full text and abstracts from magazines, newspapers and reference books that are credible, reputable resources. The vast majority of the journals available through the service are not available for free on the web or in any other electronic format.

The Digital Maine Library is undergoing a renovation!

This transformation will happen in phases during the summer and fall. As often happens in renovations, DML may get a little messy.

In phase 1, on July 1st, four resources will sunset: ProQuest newspaper resources (Global Newsstream, U.S. Newsstream, Maine News, and Wall Street Journal), Value Line (Investment Survey and Research Center), all World Book resources, and the Gale Literature Resource Center.

Think of this as walls that have to come down temporarily. They will be rebuilt this fall, though they may not look quite the same!

Accessing the Digital Maine Library!

The Digital Maine Library may be accessed from any public, school or academic library in Maine. Access is also available from your home or business in Maine. Access from out of state is available with a valid Maine library card

Tips for accessing the Digital Maine Library

Reminder for the use of Valueline

  1. There is a user limit of 6 users for each resource. If number of users is exceeded, the seventh user will either see a blank white page saying "Service Unavailable" or a Valueline page saying "Licensed Number of Users Exceeded: The licensed number of users is already logged on for this account." If this happens, have user close browser and try again in a few minutes.
