Beginning in November 2024, the Maine Bureau of Insurance will be conducting a “clean up” of Maine individual non-resident producer license records. Under Maine law, a producer must have a valid home state license in order to hold a Maine non-resident producer license. We have identified a large number of Maine non-resident producer licenses that do not have a valid home state license. During the clean-up, these non-compliant licenses will be cancelled pursuant to 24-A M.R.S. § 1417(1-A).
This action will occur over the next several weeks, and should be completed by the end of 2024. If you feel your license was cancelled in error, please contact the Maine Bureau of Insurance at
Thank you.
