Baxter Memorial Library is currently seeking a part-time (20 hours) Library Assistant in Adult Services to assist with a variety of paraprofessional and clerical duties. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to library patrons, including checking library items in and out, issuing library cards, and fielding reader's advisory questions. Work is varied in nature and may involve irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. Apply today!
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for Grade 1 positions begins at $20.24 effective July 1, 2024; actual salary will depend on experience, qualifications, and budget.
The Town of Gorham offers earned vacation, sick time, and 13 paid holidays to eligible part-time employees. Part-time employees pay 100% of the premium cost to enroll in health insurance, life insurance, dental, and vision coverage. Part-time employees also have access to contribute to a 457(b) deferred compensation retirement plan.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience working directly with the public in a customer-oriented position required. Prior experience working in a public library preferred. Any equivalent combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
