The Program Coordinator is central to the Jesup's mission to nourish minds, enhance lives, and build community. The Program Coordinator will be passionate about developing and promoting outstanding public programs and services for patrons of all types across our diverse community. This is a highly collaborative position that works with a dynamic team of library staff, artists and performers, and patrons. The responsibilities of this position are broad and varied and include program development, public relations, program evaluation, and managing audio/video equipment. The right candidate will be an enthusiastic, organized, collaborative, and passionate individual who loves public service and thrives in a dynamic work environment.
This is an exciting time to join the Jesup as it undergoes a major expansion to its historic facility, set to open in summer 2025. With activity spaces, performance halls, conference rooms, and a makerspace, the Jesup Memorial Library will be well-positioned to be a state-of-the-art center of connection, culture, and learning for everyone in our community.
Responsibilities include:
Programming
Oversee program calendar
Coordinate events with speakers and partner organizations
Generate event registration and invitations
Write press releases for events, add events to community calendars
Oversee weekly programs, welcome speakers to the library
Run audio/visual components for library programs
Oversee the use of the librarys audio visual equipment
Develop audio/visual plans for events, answer questions about A/V requirements for library programs and day-to-day library events
Analyze and evaluate program success
Work with staff to develop events and programs focusing on locally-relevant issues
Communications
Monitor and update website with most current library information
Work with staff to design, develop, and distribute a regular library newsletter
Add library programs and registrations to calendar
Manage social media accounts
Serve as a point of contact for communication consultants
Develop signs and brochures to promote library events and services
Edit and upload recorded programs to website
Assist development staff with fund drives and marketing efforts
Other
Circulation shifts providing public service
Work on various projects with different team members
Other assignments as needed
Qualifications for this position include:
A passion for program development and community development work
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Track record of experience working in collaborative teams
Proficient in design software, website management, and social media
Ability to handle multiple projects independently, and be part of a larger team
High attention to detail and organization skills
Ability to work some evenings and some weekends

Pay and Benefits:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits
Compensation range: $43,000 - $49,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience
