The electrical science and mathematics teachers collaborated on the NAHB/NCCER standards to document and illustrate the intersections of the mathematics standards, Guiding Principles, and the Career and Education Development standards. To do this, the group, went standard by standard in NAHB/NCCER and the electrical instructors discussed their curriculum, as math teachers listened and determined the alignment of the math standards. It was determined that many math topics are included in the electrical technology program. However, there are still many pre-high school standards (e.g. fractions, decimals, percents, ratios) that are not included. The high school level standards that were found were mostly algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
