The following policies apply to all Executive Branch state agencies, and are strongly encouraged for other agencies.
Accessibility
Web Accessibility Policy (PDF) - All State websites must be accessible to the disabled in accordance with the checkpoints in the State policy. It is the agency's responsibility to create and post accessible content. For more information about creating accessible pages, see the Accessibility resources section of this site.
Design, Content & Administration Standards
Web Standard (PDF) - The current standards require all pages to display the Maine.gov header and to follow specific design, content, and administration requirements.
Waiver Process
If you feel your part or all of your site should be exempt from any part of the Web Standards, you may request a waiver from the Office of the CIO as outlined in OIT's waiver policy (PDF).
