Maine National Guard Completes Deployment Supporting Hospitals During the Delta and Omicron COVID-19 Surge

Today marks the end of Governor Mills’ temporary deployment of the Maine National Guard to hospitals to provide crucial non-clinical staff support during the most intense period of the COVID-19 pandemic to date. The entire Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) COVID-19 team is grateful for their service.

All Home Health Services under Section 40 and Hospice Services under Section 43 are required to use EVV for services delivered in a MaineCare member's home or in a community-based services setting by January 1, 2023. An EVV system is used to verify the date, time, and site of a visit, as well as services provided and who provided the service.

Supplemental Payments for Providers of Sections 2, 17, 26, 28 and 65

In accordance with Sections AAAA-3 and AAAA-6 of the biennial budget, 2021 P.L. Ch. 398, the Department will issue monthly supplemental “ramp” payments during calendar year 2022 that total $9.6 million to providers of services under Sections 2, 17, 26, 28 and 65 to support providers’ ability to pay their direct service workers at least 125% of Maine minimum wage.
