Q: How much does the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital specialty plate cost?
A: The fee is $20.00 in addition to the regular registration fee when first purchasing the plates. Each renewal is an additional $15.00. There will be no reservation period and low digit plates will not be available for issuance. The plates will be issued in a unique numbering sequence, beginning with 101-BBA through 999-BBZ.
Vanity plates are available in the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital specialty plate series with a maximum of six characters, plus one space or dash in the sequence. The fee is an additional $25.00 above the registration fee. The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital vanity plates cannot duplicate a vanity plate which has already been issued in another class of plate. A: The proceeds from The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital specialty plate will be credited to The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital to support ongoing pediatric programs.

If the plates are not available in your town, they may be purchased at the nearest branch office or by mailing a copy of your registration and a check for $20.00 ($45 for vanity) made payable to the Secretary of State and mailed to: Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Specialty Plate Clerk, 29 State House Station, Augusta, Maine 04333-0029.
