The Maine Permanent Commission on the Status of Women (MePCSW) is a government appointed group dedicated to improving opportunities for women and girls. As such, we advise the Governor and the Legislature about policy and social issues affecting women and girls in the state Title 5, Chapter 371-A: Permanent Commission on the Status of Women.
The Maine Permanent Commission on the Status of Women (MePCSW) 2024 biennial report (PDF) pulls together information from publicly available data sources to tell the story of Maine women’s labor and economic security. After each section of this report, we also highlight key recommendations for action. Many of these recommendations draw from the strength, scholarship, and expertise of the myriad Maine organizations that are aiming to build a more equitable future for women, girls, and all Maine residents.
