Hope Historical Society

The collection is primarily focused on the history of Hope and contains family papers, photographs, artifacts, maps, some furniture, some china, some small farm implements and Hope Historical House - the 1818 Henry Handley house, with shed and barn. There is a small collection of genealogies and local histories of surrounding towns.

Historical Society of Wells & Ogunquit

Our library and archives include Wells and Ogunquit histories, private cemetery records, vintage photographs and postcards, vital records, town records going back more than 100 years, family genealogies, maps, and a list of historically significant buildings in Wells and Ogunquit. There are also volumes of New England and U.S. histories as well as the York County Genealogical Library.

Hiram Historical Society

The collection of Hiram Historical Society consists of approximately 10,000 items that document the history of Hiram, Maine, including photographs, letters, maps, and artifacts. General Peleg Wadsworth and Timothy Cutler, who had large land grants, were the principal founders of the town which was settled in 1774 and incorporated in 1814. Hiram is located in southern Oxford County along the Saco and Ossipee Rivers and among scenic hills, lakes and forests.

Harpswell Historical Society

The Harpswell Historical Society is dedicated to the discovery, identification, collection, preservation, interpretation, and dissemination of materials relating to the history of Harpswell and its people. Among its activities is the operation of the Society's Museum, which contains artifacts and documents relating to the colonial period, the shipbuilding and sea-faring eras, and more recent times. The museum archives also hold many important town documents and records dating back to before the Revolution.

Hampden Historical Society

The Hampden Historical Society is located in the Martin Kinsley House Museum and maintains the museum collection and an archival collection dating back to the late 1700s. The unique documents include early store ledgers from the 1800s, Rev John Miller?s record of marriages performed by him, eight family bibles, one of Dr Wetherbee?s ledgers from1934, diaries of daily life in early Hampden, correspondence of Hannibal Hamlin?s granddaughter Myra Louise Hamlin, two books from Hannibal Hamlin?s Library signed by him, Hampden Town Orders 1829 ?
